FULL DESCRIPTION

Marine Dynamics runs shark cage diving trips from Gansbaai with a focus on conservation, research, and responsible wildlife observation. Visitors are given briefings on shark behavior, ocean ecosystems, and safety before going out with trained crew and marine biologists. The experience takes place from a secure vessel, with viewing from the boat as well as optional cage observation in the water. Marine Dynamics is linked to marine research and rehabilitation programs, so part of the work contributes to data collection and environmental awareness.

• Conservation fee R150 per person payable separately and used as a contribution to the Dyer Island Conservation Trust

• Sunblock and swimwear

• Seasickness medication as Marine Dynamics states they are not allowed to sell medication so guests must bring their own

WHAT TO BRING

• Swimsuit or bathing costume

• Warm clothing plus a windbreaker because it can be cold on the water

• Comfortable closed shoes like sneakers

• Sunscreen and sunglasses

• Camera

• Anti nausea medication if you are prone to seasickness and take it the night before and again about two hours prior to the trip

GOOD TO KNOW

You do not need diving experience. All safety briefing and equipment are provided, and you will be guided step by step.

This was an awesome experience!!!! They provided breakfast, cold water suits, masks and lunch. My advice to you is to take your own snorkel. They have you dip down as the sharks come near. I would have stayed under if I had a mask.

Best experience ever. I will definitely recommend White Shark Projects if you want to explore the sharks up close and personal. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Wow, this place is OUTSTANDING. It is so perfectly organized and was so much fun. You get food and drinks before and after the dive, they have warm showers and changing rooms, and the staff is so friendly and professional. Diving with the sharks was awesome and we were very happy about this experience!

We had a awesome time! Weather was great, staff friendly and helpful. The boat ride was so relaxing with a beautiful view!! We saw about 10 sharks and had a nice view from top of the boat! Thank you soooo much!!❤️

One of the best experiences of my life! Even though the weather wasn't great, being just under the shark was amazing. I didn't feel any danger at all. The only thing I'd recommend is getting medication for sea sickness. Otherwise, it was an experience worth having. The staff were friendly and explained everything thoroughly 🦈 …

AMAZING!!!! The food provided was fantastic. All the staff was fantastic. I feel so bad I don’t recall the lady at the desk yesterday what her name was but she really was amazing and soothing. I felt very safe with this team. Even the showers were great they provided so much. As everyone knows they can control if or how many sharks but the sharks delivered yesterday and I loved it.

My experience with white shark projects volunteering was magical! Everyone was so accommodating and inviting. It felt like home. Hannah, the marine biologist, went above and beyond to educate us on the impact on marine wildlife. Monique kept us informed about our itinerary and concerns. Volunteered here for 5 weeks and cannot recommend it enough. Had the most amazing time and could not have had a more welcoming and friendly atmosphere than what the staff created. We loved the swop shop, caves, sea days and the lectures from the project. We also got engaged and the staff threw us a South African braai to celebrate. The most magical experience, we loved it!!
